# Resolve Pool >[!info]- Details > The Resolve Pool starts with a single d6. Events happening within the game can add dice to that pool, up to a maximum of six d6. The GM awards Resolve Dice to the party based on their actions and at specific plot moments within the game. > > If a player accurately and faithfully represents their character’s heroic attributes in difficult circumstances, it’s appropriate for the GM to awards a Resolve Die based on their roleplaying. > > Furthermore, events or actions that dramatically bolster the party's determination can also add a Resolve Die to the pool. These rare instances of self-sacrifice, kindness, and charity provide a light in the darkness, helping the party to forge ahead and achieve success. > > Finally, if the characters manage to heroically overcome a horrific event that had added a die to the Beast Pool (see below), add a die to the Resolve Pool. Such actions include killing an innocent creature, choosing selfishness or callousness at the expense of others, working to undermine the common good, and so forth. Horrific events can also add dice to the Beast Pool. > > When the party encounters a particularly strong evil creature, or when they witness something extremely disturbing, the GM can add a d6 to the Beast Pool.
