## Description A 6 to 10 foot long wooden staff carved with runes that name the dishonored target of the staff's curse, the shaft is draped in horsehide and topped with a horse's skull. ## Effect **Creation.** A nithing pole is crafted to exact retribution for an act of cowardice or dishonor. The target must be fully named on the pole. **Utilize Action.** You can take a [[Utilize]] Action to plant one end of the staff in ground or wedge somewhere to cause it to stand upright, activating it's magic. **Bestow Curse.** Whenever the named target enters a 60-foot-[[Emanation]] originating from the Nithing Pole, the [[Emanation]] enters the target's space or the target ends its turn there, the Nithing Pole casts [[Bestow Curse]] (5th Level, no [[Concentration]], DC 15) on the target. You choose the effect of the Curse when you create the Nithing Pole. The Nithing Pole only becomes a nonmagical Quarterstaff when the target fails its saving throw. **Knock Over Pole.** A creature can take a [[Utilize]] Action to knock down or pick up the pole. If the creature is not the pole's creator, it is targeted by the Nithing Pole's Bestow Curse. **Destroy Pole.** The Nithing Pole can be destroyed (AC 17, HP 5; Immunity to Psychic damage; Vulnerability to Fire damage; Resistance to Bludgeoning and Piercing damage). If the creature targeting the pole is not the pole's creator, it is targeted by the Nithing Pole's Bestow Curse.
